Welcome to The
Neighborhood Groups of Cambridge (NGC)

The Neighborhood Groups of Cambridge (NGC) comprise an affiliation of Cambridge Neighborhood Groups whose leaders began meeting on an ad hoc basis in 2017 to help support and nourish these independent voluntary groups that have taken root around the city. We have created this site to help provide up to date information on activities in our neighborhoods as well as in and around Cambridge.

We look forward to helping new comers connect with local neighborhood groups and long standing residents reconnect.

Cambridge, Ma.

Cambridge sits on historic Massachuset Native land and we honor this legacy. The city of Cambridge was founded by Puritan settlers in 1630 as Newtowne. It became the first capital of the Massachusetts Bay Colony and is one of the earliest planned cities in North America. Today it is not only home to several great universities, but also to biotech and other industries. With 119,000 residents and a 7.1 square mile footprint, Cambridge is one of the most dense cities in the U.S., ranking number 4 for populations over 100,000. Situated along the Charles River, Cambridge also benefits from its many distinct neighborhoods, an array of historic and contemporary style residences, while boasting a culturally diverse and international community.
